Eharmony Review – Popular Dating Site

Eharmony Review – Popular Dating Site

Pros

  • Very popular site where you know people are there for serious relationships.
  • According to eHarmony 90 members get married every single day.
  • In depth personality assessment finding compatibility and accurate results.

Cons

  • E-Harmony decides which profiles are sent to you based on your personality test.
  • Large ratio of women to men, which my make this site more challenging for women to find a match.
  • Automatic renewals – Make sure you cancel your subscription before the end date.
  • Some matches sent to you are inactive or free members.

Eharmony.com is an extremely popular dating site with 14 million members and growing everyday. So what makes Eharmony so popular? There is not one straight forward answer but I do think that there are three factors that contribute largely to its success.

  1. The first is the amount of members, with 14 million members you have a better chance hands down of meeting someone special.
  2. The second is the quality of people, Eharmony.com is founded by christian author and relationship expert Dr. Neil Clark Warren. So is be based on strong values and people looking to find a life long companion.
    • On that note, Eharmony does not allow gays or lesbians to sign up to there site stating he does not know enough about gay and lesbian relationships to do same-sex matching. According to USA Today they reject 16% of those who take the personality test because they’re poor marriage prospects.
  3. The personality test is extremely detailed and will take you about hour to complete, this weeds out people who aren’t serious about finding true love or long term relationship.
    • The personality test is extremely extensive with 436 questions measuring 29 dimensions of compatibility. When I took the test I was impressed, I thought the personality test was interesting and a gave an accurate representation of me and who I was looking for in a mate.

After you fill out the personality test it is than up to Eharmony.com to send you 7 matches a day via email. This is when you decide to reject some one or send them a questionnaire of questions you pick. Some of the people sent to you are not paid subscribers (There is no real way to communicate with free members) or there account is closed out. But if you give it some time you will eventually find matches that you are interested in. You may express interest in one of your matches and select a questionnaire for him/her to answer. If your match answers, you will receive their answers and a set of questions to answer in return.

THE LOW DOWN:

There has been allot of success with eHarmony.com and I think if you meet the criteria that eHarmony is looking for than (emotionally healthy, heterosexual, and want to get married) this could be the site for you. I would just have to say that if you sign up for this site than you have to patient. With 7 matches a day and some of those matches being inactive accounts or free members than it will take some time to find someone you are interested in but with 90 marriages a day you can’t beat those odds.
